first draft of the Synthesis Essay
For this statement it is very important for people to have different types of English especially for people who live in the United States that mostly speaks English. For example, African Americans might have different types of English that could be confusing for people who don’t understand the accents or slang. This type of English causes people to have conflict with each other because not everyone uses black English as their accent. This could impact the point where African Americans were treated differently around others by giving them disrespect and unfair situations with race issues that could cause more problems in the United States. Black English was one of the most controversial and historical accents in American history and this causes many people to write down stories about the horrible moments about black people being treated unfairly and disrespectfully in the United States. “There is less adequate understanding of the meaning of Black English to those who use it. Such understanding requires ethnographic study of the place of Black English in the verbal repertoire of the community in which it is used. There has been some work in this area, but much of it has focused on aspects of Black English of interest for linguistic theory, e.g. the possibility of creole origins as a constraint on variability. Such studies have tended not to recognize the full scope and complexity of Black English.” (Community attitudes toward black englishMary Rhodes HooverLanguage in Society 7 (1), 65-87, 1978) (scholar.google.com) This statement is very useful for people to understand because the English community is very challenging to get used to getting into English which is very important to understand the main point of the conservation.
To solve this issue we need more people to take action against these types of situations because we want the audiences to take action if this could happen to them in the future. Also we want everyone to feel safe and comfortable with speaking to others. Without taking action the society will still be arguing with racism and they will suffer more time fighting for their rights as a person because African Americans will help improve the society by risking their life to make their children feel safe and comfortable speaking with their friends or family members. For this important information it’s very common for Black English to be mistaken for unprofessional grammar and leading people to make fun at black English. It’s very unfortunate that this has happened over the years and this issue is still happening today. We need to respect different types of English and we need to improve society by treating others with respect and understanding the concept of conservation. Taking action is also very important because we want the future to be a better place for the future children and adults who want to feel safe around others and make sure that everyone deserves to have equal rights and opportunities to live a happier life. In the future if anyone is not happy with their English it’s very important to help them learn more proper grammar and punctuation in English. “With the recent controversy in the Oakland, California school district about Ebonics-or as it is referred to in sociolinguistic circles, African American Vernacular English or Black English Vernacular-much attention has been paid to the patterns of speech prevalent among African Americans in the inner city. In January 1997, at the height of the Ebonics debate, author and prominent sociolinguist William Labov testified before a Senate subcommittee that for most inner city African American children, the relation of sound to spelling is different, and more complicated than for speakers of other dialects. He suggested that it was time to apply this knowledge to the teaching of reading.” (Language in the inner city: Studies in the Black English vernacular William Labov University of Pennsylvania Press, 1972) (scholar.google.com) This evidence is very strong about my essay because the purpose of this text would help understand the important things that everyone that experienced black English will be understanding the physiology of different types of English or slang and this could impact to help improve our society.
In the United States people who has black English may have historical conflict with other types of English, For example fighting for equal rights with whites and other races. This is a good example why this is a problem for the United States and how should we help improve society. “The problem was fur-ther complicated by the fact that even though most Blacks brought to the United States came from Africa’s West Coast bulge, there was no one com- mon language spoken by them. Instead the non- related tribes spoke hundreds of languages (Taylor, 1972). This non-existence of English coupled with the differing African languages led the White overlords to develop a simplistic form of English or” baby talk” in order to communicate with the Africans. The simplified English theory then sug-gested that Blacks learned this child-like speech and adopted it as their primary form of communication both with the overlords and their fellow slaves.” (An Historical Review of Black English Genre In The United States: A Dependable TheoryPortia H Shields, Donald ThompsonNegro History Bulletin 42 (2), 46, 1979) (scholar.google.com) This evidence is proof that many African Americans were treated differently in the past and how people were different compared to today. Also nowadays people have somewhat equal rights with other races but people these days are still arguing with racism and violence against these problems in the United States.
The sources that were interesting for supporting my statement will be “Ralph W. Fasold, Georgetown university” A lively, well-documented history of Black English… that will enlighten and inform not only educators, for whom it should be required reading, but all who value and question language.” (Spoken soul: The story of black English John Russell Rickford, Russell John RickfordTurner Publishing Company, 2007) (scholar.google.com) This evidence supports my statement because it shows that black English was really useful for the society especially for educational purposes to help learn for the students to take action if this situation could be impactful in the future. We need to know that in life different types of English are natural for people to have, especially people who are not from the United States and we need to respect each other if possible to make the world a better place for everyone. The world would be difficult for most people but it’s part of life and we need to be prepared for these types of challenges and reach our opportunities to get into their future career. When times get difficult it’s very important to talk to a friend or family member if they have the answer to fix their mental health and bring peace.
For the Synthesis Essay there is a lot of evidence that is very supportive to prove my point of having black English around the United States and we should respect each other for having different types of English. Also throughout history was one of the reasons why racism is a massive part of my essay. It is very important to know the history before explaining the modern conflicts with equal rights and speaking rights. Today many African Americans see this case very importantly and I believe it’s very good to express this important information to the audiences who want to learn more about different types of English in our society.
For everything that has happened throughout history of Black English and standard English, we all know that accents in the United States are very difficult to understand but it’s respectful to let everyone know that English is more commonly used in the United States and obtain good feedback about expressing their thoughts on communication with others. Maybe in the future we should have improved social encounters with people by helping improve their goals of becoming more used to speaking English so they could have a better time communicating with others to make accents more enjoyable and better to communicate instead of arguing with racism or something that could affect other people’s day. It’s unfortunate that people back then had to experience unfair situations with race and language because back then we didn’t have a lot of peace and we should respect each other if possible to make the world a better place.

For educational purposes about black and standard English here in the United States we need to respect different types of English because throughout time the United States has been facing conflict between different types of English. People who wouldn’t accept other people’s languages or English has been very racist to people asking if their English is effective to understand or people just making fun at black English in general. People faced protests or political movements to take action against the government because many people in the United States believes that the government isn’t doing enough to improve society. “Black English is the variety of English spoken or understood by many persons of Afro-American descent. This paper summarizes the historical development of Black English and discusses it in terms of implications for American education.” (scholar.google.com) (An introduction to the historical development of Black English: Some implications for American education Orlando L Taylor). For this example, this is why black English has been a problem with communications in public school or in general because people just wouldn’t accept the fact that black English exists in our society and we need to respect each other even though it’s not the English that people wouldn’t understand. For my opinion for this statement I believe that people should not judge other people Englishs and accept the fact that everyone is different than others. Also taking action is necessary if this type of situation is unfair to others. Sometimes in life we need to know that life is full of bad people in general and having a bad time could impact someone else life but if we have good people who really respects other races or cultures this means that they could have better time experiencing the same issue and later on it’s possible for people to understand the point of having black or standard English in life. Finally, I want to learn more about taken action against these types of situations and how should we do if this happens in our lifetime and take action.

I really agree with this meme because coming up with ideas in my head is very difficult to get used to having a good essay. Thinking about a lot of different things could cause my head to be stressed and tired of thinking too much. But it is important to familiarize myself that I can improve my essay and make sure that my essays is done and perfect

At first when I returned from writing essays I did have the mindset of coming up with good ideas because I was disconnected to writing essays from the summer and lost some of my writing skills. I didn’t have too much support with having a good essay or writing in general. But later on I became more used to coming up with good ideas and find strategies to improve my essay.

The fact that this meme is very important to my claim about Brainstorming my statement. This represents the future of my essay skills and experience to have a good essay in the future.
